Yoga denotes various practices, physical and/or mental, the ultimate goal of these practices being the discovery of the nature of our innermost entity, the self, through the stability / strength and peace of the two instruments of this self, namely, the body and the mind respectively.

 

These practices originated in India. Roughly, more than 50 million people in the West today practise yoga of different sorts as a way out of the stressfulness of modern life. I am sure that the International Day of Yoga and its Proclamation in Portugal during the summer solstice 2014 will draw in more people into the arena of Yoga.
